Electric water heaters use
electrical energy to generate heat by electrical resistance that is used to
raise the temperature of the water. Both tanked and tankless models are
available. While these units are simpler to install as they eliminate the need
to run a gas pipe to the unit, the running cost may be higher than gas fired
water heaters depending on the cost of electrical power in the area.
